2017 ABBOTSFORD CURLING CLASSIC CASH SPIEL AND GREY CUP PARTY!

We are hosting the Abbotsford Curling Classic Cashspiel as part of the World Curling Tour November 24 – 26, 2017.  Sixteen men’s and 16 women’s teams will be competing for $35,000 in cash prizes. The event is sponsored by Driving Force Decks.

On the men’s side, Dean Joanisse will be a local favourite. He has represented BC twice at the Brier and was runner-up to John Morris’s team in last year’s BC Provincial Finals. Other notable local teams include Sean Geall, Neil Dangerfield and young Tyler Tardi the reigning Canadian Junior Champions. Also participating are strong teams from out of country. Soohyuk Kim from Korea has won four World Curling Tour Events since 2014. Yusuke Morozumi will be skipping Japan’s National Team at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

On the ladies’ side, BC’s 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts winner, Karla Thompson, will be a local favourite. Chelsea Duncan, who was on the winning team in the 2017 Yukon Scotties Tournament of Hearts, will be here. So too will Satsuki Fujisawa – she has won five Japanese National Championships and will be representing her country in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Victoria Moiseeva, who represented Russia in the 2016 European Championships, will also be competing.
