2020 New Holland Junior National Championship
The 2020 New Holland Junior National Championship is being hosted by the Langley Curling Centre January 18 – 26, 2020. There are many opportunities for Volunteers and at present we need 150 more. If you would like to sign up as a Volunteer, please go to the LCC Website, NHJ2020 tab and you will find the link to register.
Most of the volunteer categories do not require training, however two groups do: Timing and Statistician. Both of these require you to be certified by taking part in a training Clinic. LCC will be hosting a clinic for Timing on November 2nd, the registration link is on the LCC Website. The cost of the clinic is $45.00, however you will have the opportunity to earn $5.00 for each NHJ2020 game that you work. . A Statistician clinic, at no cost to volunteers, will be held in early December, date to confirmed. There will also be a Curling Canada Stats program to practice with after the workshop date.
Also needed for EACH of the draws is a Master of Ceremonies. Duties would include introducing teams and any dignitaries or sponsors attending the draw. Multiple volunteers are required for this position.
We require volunteers to assist with the procession on and off the ice for the January 18th opening ceremony and two closing ceremonies on January 26th.
Also needed is a Manager for decorations/signage . Contact Nigel directly.
This not only will be a fun event, but you will be witnessing some wonderful curling. There will be 140 competitors and 28 teams participating.
The volunteers will be thanked at a banquet on Monday evening January 29th.
Any volunteer assistance you can provide for this great event at Langley’s facility will be greatly appreciated.
