The playdowns were held in Cloverdale on Jan. 27 – 29. Team Hambly (Jim, Howard, BJ and Fred Moon) finished with a record of 2 and 2 in the Phillip competition. The Dale Johnston team from Langley emerged as the Zone champion.
In the Donaldson (70+) Team Sinclair (Milt, Charlie Lindsay, Russ Knutson and Jerry Wallace) won their last game against Team Ellis to win the Albert Oliver Memorial Shield. They will represent Zone 2 at the combined play-offs on March 10 to 14 hosted by the Penticton/Summerland Curling Clubs.
